Welcome to Mei's Typhoons
Swim Club (MTSC), an affiliate team of USA Swimming. MTSC is a year-round
competitive swim team directed by a professional coaching staff and offering
a full spectrum swimming instruction for swimmers at every level, from novice
to elite. Through individual instruction, swimmers can reach their maximum
potential and achieve the sport-specific goal they seek. The 2005 New England
Swim Coach of the year Mei Han of Mei's Typhoons Swim Club, a premier swim
club training at Springfield College (SC) is pleased to provide details of
the 2008 Long Course Season.
Stroke
Clinic
Coach Mei Han of Mei’s
Typhoons Swim Club will be conducting a four day stroke clinic on March 26,
28, 29, and 30, 2008 at Springfield College. The clinic will concentrate on
one stroke per session and will include both video instruction as well as
practical instruction in the pool. This is not a learn-to-swim
clinic; swimmers must
be able to complete a full lap in the pool. Link

Summer
'08 Season
The LCM season will run
from April 1 through July 24, 2008 (New England Open Championships). Special
arrangements will be made for swimmers qualifying for Eastern Zones or National
Championships which take place in August. 4
Swimmer Classifications
Juniors (“Jr”): 1½ hour
practice. This classification is for swimmers age 10& under.
Age Group (“AG”): 2+
hour practice. This is generally for swimmers age 11 through college.
To sign up for the summer
2008 season, complete a Parental consent
form.

Juniors finish a half an hour earlier than the above practice times. For
Juniors, dryland is optional.
*NOTE* When summer vacation begins, the schedule will change. Please pay
attention to the monthly practice schedules.
The
team practice schedule will be posted every month. Additionally, there will
be times when the published schedule will be modified due to various functions
held by the college.
Fees

USA Swimming Registration
Fee: All swimmers are required register for USA Swimming membership. Not only
does this provide the swimmer with accident insurance during activities with
MTSC, it is also required prior to entering into a USA swim meet. The annual
fee of $55 is due with the first payment. There is a $1 fee to transfer a
current membership from another USA swim team. USA Registration Forms will
be available at practice. For Team Fees and Payment Schedule, please

Meet
Fees
Swimmers are required
to pay meet fees (about $4.00 per event) and a Swimmer Participation Fee (range
from $1 - $10 per meet). These fees are required to be paid when you sign
up for the meet as the team is required to send a check in along with the
team entries. Meets fill up extremely fast; it is imperative that we are registered
and sign up for meets as soon as the information becomes available.
